Some say the Great Spirit is not an individual being.
http://www.world-religions-professor.com/atman-brahman.html

All the evidence to me seems to indicate the Great Spirit is an individual being. Those who maintain S/He is not IMO replace S/He with another concept...World Soul. But this World Soul consciousness I believe is not that from which we emanated, but it's better explained IMO by Carl Jung...his "collective unconscious." Only I'd for-sure include in this...non-human consciousnesses with bodies here on Earth. The World-Soul-As-Atman-Idea is represented in definition 3 here for example...
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/atman

IMO it's not that Brahman's "Yin" side does her thing amidst the phenomena of limited dimensions we talk about in every day conversation ("4 dimensions" in the common parlance). IMO Brahman has a Yang side and a Yin side. "Nature" seems to me a panoply of consciousnesses. Jung's collective unconscious was similar, but included past experiences (and for the most part usually was/is referring to genetic memories germane to humans). As I noted above, the "World Soul"/Atman concept is also similar.

Carl Jung's notion of the collective unconscious (what's really behind "World Soul") is IMO in some moments vastly more tied in with Nature than the Divine Mother.

The panoply of consciousnesses I believe in (constituting the World Soul) is a matter of cumulative experiences in the present [and even human entities are limited in their comprehension of consciousnesses other than their own, yet we realize all of these are somehow linked]. It may be true that "Nature" is predominately a set of dimensions governed/created by Adyashakti/Kali...but when I think of "Kali," before and apart from Her creation (a form I prefer to name Divine Mother), she in such form, in my mind, is not an emanation from the masculine Brahman...She is instead half of Brahman.

Trump realizes giving proper care means more for hospitals & staff & less for shareholders.

"What of the immensely profitable drug companies—coddled with huge tax credits and billions of dollars in taxpayer-funded drug development given away free to selected pharmaceutical corporations like Pfizer and Bristol-Myers-Squibb? They have long avoided doing work on vaccines because, unlike life-style drugs such as Viagra or those for chronic ailments like high-blood pressure, vaccines are not taken daily or often. Vaccines do not have the same return on investment for pharmaceutical companies as those medications taken daily for a variety of conditions and treatments."

http://www.mtnforum.org/sites/default/files/publication/files/1183.pdf

Interesting legend at this url from which one has to conjecture myriad possibly real elements; I'm including quotes below.
http://nabataea.net/camel.html

"Zoologists tell us that the camel is not of Arab origin despite it's long connection with Arab life. They maintain that in earliest times, before its domestication the camel was unknown in Arabia. Its original habitat was America, where fossils of ancient camels are found, along with the camel's close brother, the Llama survived. (Hitti, Jurji, and Jabbur, History of the Arabs page 22)."

Earliest possible domestication North Africa according to this site.

Earliest known representation of the camel dates back to the Stone Age.
"...This is found in two carvings in a place called Kilwa in Jabal Tubayq on the eastern boarder of Jordan..."

[there's an error in this: 'killed who'] "...In the biblical story of Joseph (Genesis 37:25) tells us of the Ishmaelites who used camels to carry tragacanth gum, spices, balsam and myrrh to Egypt. Later in Judges 7:12 we read how Gideon killed who of the leaders of the Midianites, Amalekites and the other people of the east, who had innumerable camels. Gideon took the crescent shaped ornaments that were on the necks of the camels. (8:21). It also mentions that the camels of the easterners had collars on their necks. (8:26)

"The Bible also mentions camels in the account of the queen of Sheba, and in the book of Job, who had 3000 camels before his troubles and 6000 afterwards. (Job 1:3, 42:12). The Bible also mentions that the Reubenites and Gadites and the half tribe of Manassa plundered 50,000 camels from the Hagarites. (I Chronicles 5:18-21)..."

geology

"Today, 120-520 million-year-old marine and terrestrial sandstone sediments cover the region of Petra and Wadi Rum, forming an impressive landscape of reddish brown rocky towers up to 1700 m high, perched on the old Precambrian (Arabian) basement surrounded by sandy valleys (Southern basement complex and Paleozoic Sandstone area)."

The Three Legs

1. Wage reduction

2. Increased "income" generated by wealthiest households

3. Changes in the tax system

4. Removing (off shoring) large sectors of production, thus enhancing "profit margins"

5. Failure to anticipate appropriate & profitable products

Saez focused mostly on growing inequities of the tax system

Saez focused a little on trends with respect to trends in senior executive pay in business. Such trends, however, "represent more an internal transfer of potential capital income’s rising share from stockholders and bondholders of a corporation to active CEO and senior management" versus "how the overall share of incomes from Capital in general is rising at the expense of workers’ earned incomes, i.e. wages and salary incomes—and especially the sub-category of hourly wages and weekly earnings for the roughly 110 million production and non-supervisory workers in the U.S."

Rasmus notes Saez and Picketty have elucidated the fact that the top 20 have been doing better continuously through  recessions while the bottom 80% "working class households are stagnating at best, or actually declining in terms of real wages, real earnings, and real disposable income...getting poorer over the longer term."

2 ways the 20%'s increasing income is generated

1. Manipulation "of global financial assets and speculative financial trading, on the one hand. That is, from returns on capital from global stock & bond trading, foreign exchange speculation, interest, real estate, commodity futures, structured finance and derivatives in myriad proliferating forms, rents, and so forth—to mention just a short list. This is just ‘money making money’ and doesn’t involve..."

2. "...shifting income from workers by reducing their real wages, cutting their health care and retirement benefits, stealing all their productivity gains, and the many other ways their corporations shift income from the working class to themselves."

<i>One thing I would note here is that elements of #1 are always garnering a fraction of members from the bottom 80 who are tempted to do a quantum leap "up" into playing on this field.</i>

"Sometimes the paramahamsa behaves like a madman. When I experienced that divine madness I used to worship my own sexual organ as the Siva-phallus. But I can't do that now. A few days after the dedication of the temple at Dakshineswar, a madman came there who was really a sage endowed with the Knowledge of Brahman. He had a bamboo twig in one hand and a potted mango-plant in the other, and was wearing torn shoes. He didn't follow any social conventions. After bathing in the Ganges he didn't perform any religious rites. He ate something that he carried in a corner of his wearing-cloth. Then he entered the Kali temple and chanted hymns to the Deity. The temple trembled. Haladhari was then in the shrine. The madman wasn't allowed to eat at the guest-house, but he paid no attention to this slight. He searched for food in the rubbish heap where the dogs were eating crumbs from the discarded leaf-plates. Now and then he pushed the dogs aside to get his crumbs. The dogs didn't mind either. Haladhari followed him and asked: 'Who are you? Are you a purnajnani?' (A perfect knower of Brahman.) The madman whispered, 'Sh! Yes, I am a purnajnani.' My heart began to palpitate as Haladhari told me about it. I clung to Hriday. I said to the Divine Mother, 'Mother, shall I too have to pass through such a state?' We all went to see the man. He spoke words of great wisdom to us but behaved like a madman before others. Haladhari followed him a great way when he left the garden. After passing the gate he said to Haladhari: 'What else shall I say to you? When you no longer make any distinction between the water of this pool and the water of the Ganges, then you will know that you have Perfect Knowledge.' Saying this he walked rapidly away."

Borosage share 11/8 http://otherwords.org/stand-up-and-fight/

There's a trend at a couple of my favorite sites to come out whole hog against capitalism itself. Well, it's not that those who blame Obama for the economy are right; it's that that's where they're at, and I don't think the aforementioned position is gonna play very well with these folks. What's a little alarming is that the sane voices in between (having positions that require the most thought & the most CLARITY when expressed) seem to be disappearing a little on the edges. There are Robert Kuttner articles, for instance, which cannot now be found on his facebook page cause some kind of license has run out. So, if one's lost the link, one has to Advance Google Search with first, say, The American Prospect (they seem to have eliminated one of Kuttner's best articles on their fb page too), then Huff-Po, then Alternet, etc.

The next six links I'm putting in this share [not Borosage or Kuttner] save for the first, don't cover our whole economic set up as "generally" as Nader and Kuttner have recently. Consortium link & the Ramsey Clark link are more focused on the global impact aspect..which is rare unless you're reading "Shock Doctrine" by Klein.

Oh yes...so clear why they wanna slow down that pesky'ole net. The buzz sort of quieted for seven days; discussing what "work" is appropriate [Schumacher eg] and sustainable at this juncture still is not opened up for general brainstorming? Still the province of professional economists only? Not as glitzy as a new book I realize.

After Paco De Lucia left us, my mind returned to old wonderings about the Gitanos or Romani. Answers are pretty available now: "The Indo-Aryans were a branch of the Indo-Iranians, which originated in the Andronovo culture[10] in the Bactria-Margiana era, in present northern Afganistan.[11] The roots of this culture go back further to the Sintashta culture, with funeral sacrifices which show close parallels to the sacrificial funeral rites of the Rig Veda.[12] The Indo-Aryans split-off around 1800-1600 BCE from the Iranians,[13] where-after they were defeated and split into two groups by the Iranians,[14] who dominated the Central Eurasian steppe zone[15] and 'chased them to the extermities of Central Eurasia.'[15] One group were the Indo-Aryans who founded the Mitanni kingdom in northern Syria[11] (ca.1500-1300 BCE). The other group were the Vedic people, who were pursued by the Iranians 'across the Near East to the Levant (the lands of the eastern Mediterranean littoral), across Iran into India.'[16]"http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vedic_period

Forbidden archeology

slshiller@verizon.net

I've often wondered...if source that source that spoke through Cayce [remember Cayce on Atlantis?] was trying to be valid, was the connection so tenuous that Cayce's own personal unconscious sort of stirred the message a bit now and then?

As with a dream that becomes influenced by voices or sounds in a room. I once had a dream wherein Bob Edward's voice became that of my father speaking and Red Barber's...that of my grandfather. No lie.

I've leafed through the "Forbidden Archeology" tome at A.R.E. quite a bit myself, but after for sure my share of leafing this sojourn...I can't believe the chain-in-the-coal photos (coal "might" have been possible, but not rock IMO). Pretty satisfied, however, with the REAL forbidden archeology Counter Punch shared on "Columbus Day. I'll link that article after a photo of a jewler's hammer (not in cement). WARNING, the Counter Punch article is preceded by a fundraiser appeal at top of page.

http://straightrazorplace.com/.../20489d1234801823...

Perhaps if there had been a huge eruption on the Canaries or Las Palmas, the powers that be used the occasion to create a myth among mariners re the "new world" sinking...to discourage interlopers. http://www.counterpunch.org/2014/10/13/how-africans-brought-civilization-to-america/

What you all are doing is not just some adjunct activity to the holy global entrepreneural structural-readjusting mission of Wall Street and the World Bank. I am coming to believe that it is instead THE MAIN MISSION OF THE HUMAN SPECIES, and that these kinds of healing acts...medical, psychological, or social...are the only way to burn karma. Very often I've felt bad having to adopt this sort of remedial philosophy or view of things, but my PC feelings on this score (philosophically correct) seem not to challenge the true nature of our options (or the true nature of their alternate fruits) in the least. When human needs are met there is MOVEMENT in the species wherever such happens. When they are not there is stasis. When we work together to meet'em there's a wave of hope & joy that goes out in all directions...whatever trips we were on collectively prior. The Great Spirit no doubt facilitates this through some huge morphic field or other, but our participation I believe is expected. Man, I just think you guys and sisters were wise enough when you were young enough to choose the greaest reward available on Earth RIGHT NOW, plus set your path toward things even better, be it Pure Land, heaven, the solar path, or sojourns with access to even greater influence. PEACE TO YOU BROTHERS AND SISTERS! Yes, I will interupt this rat race stream of consciousness to send "up" prayers on your behalf.

You seem to be 100% right about the fear mongering. But I'd conjecture another factor that needs to be covered. Folks who are involved in the speculation aren't just folks who blame Obama. There are folks in helping professions following the stories and talking the issue...and not blaming Obama...who are a little more concerned (with reason IMO) than the level one might associate with the tone of this article. Actually, THEY KNOW the nature of the snafus in the system, have been feeling it intimately in one way or another themselves. Different individuals conceive contagiousness in varied ways, from hypervigilent to accurately imaginative to "I'm not in the health professions, so lucky me, the lightening stats apply." Well, the real nature of how Ebola may be transmitted here in the states and to what extent is unknown. People doing hands-on care know this, and I think they have a fair concept of the probabilities involved. But the people doing the related WORK know that, whatever the level of dissemination, they're at greater risk. I really admire the fast food workers' organizing, but it seems from observation that hands on care givers could possibly have been stressed beyond the capacity to organize for some time now. This is the same terrible glitch perhaps that prevents those most qualified from speaking out on behalf of physician assisted dying. I'm sharing everything I see on how austerity's effected our capacity to respond. I'm sharing Dr. Atul Gawande's interview at Democracy Now as well..."Ebola is 'Eminently Stoppable'".

Anyway, the factor I conjecture is that many folks who have a relatively realistic notion of the worst that could happen...and who don't blame Obama...may not really know who exactly <b>to</b> blame. I suggest you go through a bare bones chronology of all the legislative phases of trying to establish a better ACA than the one we ended up with. Outline <i>what</i> it is we ended up with, how the public option would have been better, who opposed everything (each thing) that made sense at every stop along the way. It's my sincere hope that what Gawande recommends is implemented, and that the thing is contained. FAIR is on point, though, re the impact the cable bombasts are having when so few know about the above chronology. They're trying to emasculate Obama as usual, so what FAIR usually endeavors to provide I think is needed in terms of a "talkable" rebuttal. The chronology will have to be succinct and yet not-codetalk. Don't write like Kuttner explaining QE (I respect the guy immensely but he doesn't quite get down to the people's level in every case).

The article's a little lite on the threat IMO, but regarding blaming Obama it's right on.

Who did this? Pubs.

"Sequestration required the NIH to cut its budget by 5 percent, a total of $1.55 billion in 2013. Cuts were applied across all of its programs, affecting every area of medical research." http://www.motherjones.com/blue-marble/2014/10/ebola-budget-cuts-sequester

"LAWRENCE GOSTIN: Yeah, I mean, the problem is, is that most of our innovation is driven by the private sector. And from their point of view, Ebola was not a predictable disease, and those who got Ebola were too poor to pay for it, and so there’s been a lack of investment. Not only were there not enough doses of ZMapp and things, but they weren’t even tested."

Get the point, but...

Bear in mind Obama wanted more than what ended up as whittled-down Obamacare. "The systems cited the state’s resistance to Medicaid expansion as one of several reasons for the layoffs. Of greater impact, however, was a reduction in Medicare reimbursements under Obamacare.

...Ultimately, the public option was removed from the final bill. While the United States House of Representatives passed a public option in their version of the bill, the public option was voted down in the Senate Finance Committee and the public option was never included in the final Senate bill, instead opting for state-directed health insurance exchanges."

That was the decade that was (and is). Suppose it was the power of the lobbies. DEMOCRATS MADE THE WRONG CHOICE IN BACKING 'OBAMACARE' RATHER THAN THE TRUE NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE AND JETTISONING EVEN THE PROPOSED PUBLIC OPTION AS A WAY STATION. Interesting facts about our world. "While the United States House of Representatives passed a public option in their version of the bill, the public option was voted down in the Senate Finance Committee[6] and the public option was never included in the final Senate bill..."

"President Barack Obama promoted the idea of the public option while running for election in 2008.[3] Following his election, Obama downplayed the need for a public health insurance option, including calling it a "sliver" of health care reform,[4] but still campaigned for the option up until the health care reform was passed.[5]

"While it is reducing the rate of uninsured Americans, it doesn’t get us anywhere close enough to the universal coverage that residents of other developed countries enjoy."

That's sort of general reporting. Couldn't you have mentioned, Wendell, the stark dividing line between numbers included in states with expanded Medicaid vs the millions excluded in states without it? This SCOTUS decision to allow states to opt out is looking pretty insane to many of us here in Virginia.

It looked like it was gonna go somewhere, and it did per all the items you mention, but...

"The commercialization of the larger health system is devouring the rest of the budget. The solution is neither cuts in other programs, nor the voucherization proposed by the right, nor the incremental cost savings proposed by the center-left. It is a fundamental change in the nature of our health system, and not just of Medicare. Democrats made the wrong choice in backing “Obamacare” rather than true national health insurance and jettisoning even the proposed public option as a way station." Robert Kuttner Feb '13

Boy, don't we know it now? Of course, I blame Republicans, pharm lobbies, and HMO lobbies for whittling down the healthcare reform movement ever since '03.

You need to spell out the Medicare Advantage savings (again, general reporting). All the opponents know about is the billions upon billions ACA will remove from Medicare (to pay the bloated fees charged us otherwise..."us" not meaning I'm a 100% opponent).

May I digress a moment here on the profit motive's ability to enhance a sane medical system?

Get the hedge funds out of it.

Overlooked Keith's mention of the mine...which made me think "limestone powder." Can't read all of this now, am pasting the brief citation...

Limestone: Rock Uses, Formation, Composition, Pictures
geology.com › Rocks › Sedimentary Rocks
Some limestones can form by direct precipitation of calcium carbonate from marine or .... and ground to a powder that will harden after being mixed with water.
