I tend to agree with Karen Tootle's comment, but I can't believe all members of the polical community can't handle the basic information...blood & body fluids. Nor can I believe all members won't advocate protocol BASED on the information they comprehend. Nevertheless, there are way, way, way too many politicians on the hysteria/agenda bandwagon. So many that it makes one wonder if there were an army of U.S. volunteers who wanted to go...how they'd be treated and why. Which tends to make one also wonder if certain politicians don't want Ebola radically curtailed in Africa. Doesn't it?? Or is it just me? At least hundreds of thousands of U.S. RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and DSPs are TESTED on knowing means of transmission for scads of bacteria and viruses. The quarantine mentioned in this article demonstrates a very worrisome fact about our system (and in this Tootle's right re reactionary PCness): When returns on HMO and hospital-group stocks are mainly what matters, then the most fundamental tools for caregivers will be subject to whatever "budget constraints" deemed copisetic with dividend yields. And it also means government officials and hospital administrators will (according to whichever way the wind blows) relegate the MOST FUNDAMENTAL FACTS of medical science to the-set-of-all-indeterminent-contentions (everything you know is wrong). Do-gooders are especially wrong and too liberal. It doesn't matter if the epidemic isn't addressed and mushrooms over to Gibralta, oh no. A lot of these comments give me hope for the nation, and I'm sorry my time has limited me to the uppermost. Thanks to all who've posted sane reactions. No, not necessary in a tent with no heat. At this point I do not believe it's MFS that's confused. I believe our media and our gov (save Obama for 1) are so completely ignorant that they don't know what to believe in terms of...blood & body fluids!!!! They have apparently no background in anything. The hype and hysteria are like a big [politically reactionary] snowball rolling they're all afraid to obstruct. I don't pay for cable TV. Let's get a little municipal broadband go'n folks! At the very least NBC needs to dispense with the ambiguous titles.

Blood and body fluids. We seem to have a politization (polemicizing) of every jot & tittle of our existence. Hey, it's severe...you can't kiss your relatives on returning for some time. So what? Use paper cups, so what? Can we deal with facts anymore? Refrain from sex for a while, so what? Get no pee on the seat; don't shake it on the TP (others in airports etc...tear off a few pieces of before using the stuff). Get an oral temp; foreheads and ears aren't as accurate. Report to Now Care once a wk for a documented temp taking...or the nurse at Rite Aid. Don't drool on the water fountain. Rather than understand the disease, the hysteria crowd seems to be pushing some don't-go-to-Africa-message. I'm sorry, that's not the way to deal with the thing. Hey, and dare I mention staff shortages and the TIME to gown up properly? It's the same mentality of the IMF relaxing payback schedules in affected nations...IOW same mountain moving required to change the austerity managerial mindset. How long I wonder did it take the IMF to respond in this fashion?

You're right except I wonder if she'll sue. MFS seems heavily committed to getting out the truth...first & foremost. Perhaps the ignorance flap will die fast. A simple thing like blood & body fluids...there is so much confusion and polarization in the U.S. of A...no one but MFS was sure about the communicability, and no one had the readership to relay it to...but MFS! This should really tell us something about the present functioning level of our government "for" the people. And our medical establishment.
